The work Gun-Aid is a weapon made of gold-plated silver patches. The patches as an Art object and at the same time as a comment that refers to the – coming of age – human wounds and their healing, represent a constant field of research for the artists. Here, however, they are used as constructing parts to create a weapon, the ultimate symbol of death. There is a sarcastic element and the idea that we all carry the syndrome of the survivor while we are constantly trying to cure the incurable.
Yioula Chatzigeorgiou was born in Paphos. She lives and works in Greece and Cyprus. She graduated with distinction in Painting and Etching from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 1999. She continued with postgraduate studies at the National and Technical University of Athens. She has presented her work in various solo and group exhibitions, such as:
