Margarita Athanasiou utilizes the conventions of vlogs and composes an unexpected, often humorous storytelling, where narrative conventions are used as tools but also are undermined. The artist uses as raw materials her personal memories and recorded events about the lives of historic personas, the verbal narrative kicks off with a sick kitten and runs vertically the historical time, weaving rapidly a series of events centered on the concept of caring as a female form of work but also as a practice of religious atonement.

Margarita Athanasiou graduated in new media from Slade School of Fine Art. The lyrical, absurd, historical and personal are central thematic keystones in her works, which always have the basis of the text and later take the form of prints or video games. Her works have been presented at the Aphrodite festival (Greece), q-fest festival (Croatia), Bideodromo festival (Bilbao) as well as at the Greek Film Archive Foundation. Her first poetry book “NOUNS” was published in 2018 by Dolce publication house.
