The work Hospital Interns is a video installation. An army of mechanized awkward portraits of people, staring out the window at the passersby. Inside the building, they look at each other without communicating. These portraits do not correspond to real people, as they are collages that combine characteristics from different faces. The symbolic and real absence of these people composes a future depiction of dystopia. Who is looking at whom? What emotions do these mannequins evoke? Is the sick and mainly confined person, a stranger after all? Does this image expose and emphasize the alibi of our indifference?
For Cancel is an artistic group formed by photographer, video artist & founder of FOCUS School of Photography and Video, Takis Zerdevas, painter and visual artist, Zoi Pirini, and film director, composer and video artist, Makis Faros. Their first exhibition as a group was “Near the BaseLand” at Beton7 Gallery in Athens, in 2018. Since then, they have created projects like “Through the WasteLand”, and their work has been exhibited in various exhibitions and festivals in Greece, like the Platforms Project and more.
