The second exhibition of TILT platform entitled Iasis explores our relationship with nature, our body, our psyche, the Other, the technological disruption in everyday life and what we define today as the norm.

TILT platform presents works of 35 contemporary Greek and international artists and artistic groups around the methods of healing that we develop through art and research, on a social, scientific and existential level as well as the pathogenesis and challenges of our time. Besides, its venue is Loutraki, a city par excellence thermal.

How do we define what is normal and what is ill? What can we learn from our tendency to simulate a mechanistic behavior, when the elements that characterize our human nature, such as mistakes, fatigue, the right to choose, are now considered reprehensible? Is humanity the virus that destroys the ecology of the planet? What are the limits of the real and the virtual in an age of global surveillance? And finally, what is the role of art in a time so traumatising?

Within four thematic sections, the exhibition aims to approach the concept of healing and cure as we define it today.

In the first category of Iasis raises the question of the concept of normality as a social construct. Through a series of works that refer to contemporary treatment situations and experiences, TILT platform addresses not only our personal relationship with the sick body and the perception of the diagnosis as an expression of disgust or racism, but also the concept of trauma and pain on an existential level.

The second section of the exhibition outlines the political and social dimension of Medical Speech, that argues in therapeutic terms, while coexisting with the magical function of healing, spells, exorcism, fasting and of course depositing the patient’s health in a divine favor and Fate.

Finally, in the third thematic, we find the relationship between man and nature, his removal from everything natural and the exploration of the urban landscape, industry and cyberspace as the new form of techno-nomadism while in the fourth section we attempt to approach the healing properties of Art, as an omnipotent healing tool.
