In Vally Nomidou’s work, the young flesh is dried, dead and made thick and fragile, while it reveals a state without in-betweens (like sickness and decay). This is revealed in front ofour eyes by the body position, a position that hides the possibility of action, like a printed screenshot. At the same time, that subtle bending, under the structural elements of the building, that tend to meet the body, as if this little existence is to bear the burden of the world.
And yet the question remains: was this drainage imposed from outside or from within?
