Requiem to a Fatal Incident

As in much of Rafa’s work, catastrophe and death are represented as the result of some larger calamity with non-anthropocentric, socio-political or cultural roots. The video reconstructs an event from news coverage. The lifeless animals on asphalt depict a tragic episode based on the paradox of premature death of non-human beings from human intervention. The fireworks, as yet another type of requiem, are devoted to their loss. Cinematography Thodoros Mihopoulos GSC. Sound Aris Athanasopoulos. Supported by AFK and Mondriaan Fonds
